Aquire Honored with the 2012 Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award Winner

After a selective submission and review process of several companies, Aquire was among the top 5 finalists to receive the 2012 Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award, which honors Aquire’s devotion to upholding a culture that is centered on high ethical standards and quality work.
The Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award acknowledges local firms who actively exhibit devotion to ethical practices in their day-to-day business functions, management strategies, and responses to ethical dilemmas in the workplace. The decision was made by a nine-member board comprised of representatives from both business and academia who individually reviewed submissions from the participating companies prior to a final meeting at which they determined the winning companies.

“These finalists are each a terrific example of businesses operating under ethical principles doing the right thing for their company and the clients they serve. Their work reinforces the positive, ethical values of our local business community and beyond,” says Gary Morris, chairman of the award program.

The award submission process consisted of presentations and blogs written by Aquire CEO, Lois Melbourne, and Aquire CTO, Ross Melbourne, proving executive commitment to upholding ethical standards in the work place. Founded 18 years ago, these cofounders established their company around core values and ethics that have remained strong throughout the major growth and changes that have taken place within Aquire.

Included in Aquire’s submission was a letter from Lois, CEO, in which she said, “When I started to write this letter many platitudes kept buzzing through my mind and I started thinking it sounded like my grandmother’s kitchen that was covered with quotes and sayings to live by…I continually felt like I needed to professionalize my statement. Then I realized that those sayings and quotes during my upbringing are a lot of the reasons that Aquire is the company that it is. My husband and I have created a business which is based on pragmatism, honesty and most importantly respect. We believe that these elements are what have brought us an incredible amount of success both domestically and internationally.”
