ESCHA at Wind Energy NRW Industry Day
The valve connector with straight cable-outlet is especially adapted for wind power plants.
Connectivity for Wind Power Plants
The connectors used in wind power plants must meet specific requirements including the comparably high vibration within the plant and the lightning protection required by the wind power industry. In order to meet these requirements, shielded connectivity is almost exclusively used for the safe transmission of Bus- and Sensor/Actuator-signals.
ESCHA relies on its self-developed and patented two-shell-shield concept for the shielded variants of its M8x1 und M12x1 round connectors. Connecting the shield is not effected by a crimped shield connection on the cable, but through reliable crimping with the shield housing. Thus, an uninterrupted 360°-shielding of the connector is guaranteed even with vibration and high mechanical stresses. The subsequent two-component overmould will additionally provide for the IP67 and IP69K protection class requirements.
Apart from shielded M8x1 and M12x1 connectivity with various polarities and housing styles, ESCHA also offers valve connectors. The straight cable-outlet version is especially adapted for tight spaces and the resulting installation requirements at wind power plants. A typical application for these valve connectors is the Pitch Control of a plant.
In addition to standard-round connectors, ESCHA is also the right contact partner for individual solutions. The manufacturer offers e.g. customised printing and length variants as well as individual labelling of Sensor/Actuator- and Bus-cables.
Important industry event with international participants
At Industry Day in Cologne, the members of the entire Value-added chain Wind energy are getting together. For the first time, the event is becoming international through the participation of the Netherlands and Belgium. Besides current energy policy issues, the competitiveness of the companies in these regions on the global marketplace and operators’ questions are in focus.

Premiers at SPS IPC Drives 2015
Halver, 22 September 2015 – The connector- and housing specialist ESCHA is presenting new junction components for its product line called ‘M12x1 Power’ at this year’s SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg.
