Houston Personal Injury Lawyer Warns Teens of the Consequences of Dangerous Driving

Press release from: The Byrd Law Firm
Houston personal injury lawyer Jason Byrd wants to remind teen drivers and their parents that the actions teenagers take behind the wheel can have lifelong consequences. These consequences not only include an accident, but also legal ramifications.
Jason Byrd is releasing this warning after a story out of Rhode Island made national headlines when a 17-year-old had his driver's license revoked for life. The teen was driving with three passengers while intoxicated and crashed his vehicle into a tree. One of the passengers remained in a coma for weeks.

In response to the judge's decision, Mr. Byrd believes that "while this may seem like a harsh penalty, the reality is this teen got off lightly. The consequences of this dangerous driving decision could have been more than just legal. The teens could have died."

The judge intended to send a message to teen drivers that exhibiting reckless behavior while driving, and especially drunk driving, will not be tolerated. Mr. Byrd believes this is an important message to send.

"As a Houston personal injury lawyer," Mr. Byrd commented, "I see countless cases where teens have become paralyzed, permanently injured or even killed because they drink and drive. These teens need to understand the seriousness of their actions, even if it takes a lifetime driver's license suspension to bring home that message."

In addition to the loss of a driver's license, this teen and his family face potential civil liability from those injured in the auto accident as well.
