Satellite Communications Experts to Gather at MilSatCom Asia 2012

Press release from: NewSat
MilSatCom Asia 2012
MilSatCom Asia 2012
Greg Cowie of NewSat will brief the international satellite communications market of the current and upcoming SATCOM capabilities of the independent satellite service provider at this year's MilSatCOM Asia Conference. Asia-Pacific, Middle East and African markets are poised to benefit from the company's advanced Ka band satellite, scheduled to launch in 2014.

The annual event is the industry's response to the rapidly increasing demand for SATCOM providers in Asia. MilSatCom organizer, SMi, is turning the flagship conference into a must-see trade event that would help the regional and global SATCOM markets keep up with the technological and business trends. SMi looks forward to making MilSatCom Asia a niche conference and make MilSatCom Asia as successful as the Global MilSatCom.

Greg Cowie of NewSat will be joined by other market leaders to discuss key issues affecting the regional and international satellite communications markets. Speakers include civil experts and officials of global and regional defence and government agencies. The conference will highlight military and commercial satellite service programs and initiatives, which include the Jabiru Satellite Communications Program, Australia's first locally owned commercial fleet. Others will speak about satellite imagery, civil-military interoperability and joint government projects.

Other speakers at the said event will be:
Commodore Roger Boyce, Director General of ICT Policy and Planning, Department of Defence, Australia
Major General (Dr) Siva Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, National Spatial Data Infrastructure, Department of Science and Technology, India
Masayuki Iwaike, Director of Missile Defence and Space Policy and Planning, Policy Division, Bureau of Defence Policy, Ministry of Defence, Japan
Lieutenant Colonel James Dryburgh, JS01 CIS (J6), New Zealand Defence Force
Major John Genouw, COMOPSLAND/G6/ReqMat, Joint Operational Support Division, Ministry of Defence, Belgium
Dr. Muhammad Riaz Suddle, Director for PakSat-1R Programme, SUPARCO (Pakistan Space Agency)
Jonathan Hung, President, Singapore Space and Technology Association (SSTA)
