AMA Senior VP Speaks at Government Training Conference
Press release from: AMA Enterprise
ARLINGTON, VA – April 25, 2012 – Sandra Edwards, Senior Vice President, The American Management Association (AMA) Enterprise Solutions, led an insightful and engaging presentation on succession planning yesterday at the 2012 Training Officers Consortium (TOC) Annual Institute, held April 22-25 in Ocean City, MD.
Succession planning is a major challenge for many government organizations, as baby boomers retire, leaving a skills and knowledge gap. Ms. Edwards has over twenty years of experience in strategic business development, performance consulting, organizational change, and human capital management. As Senior Vice President, she provides leadership and strategy for AMA Enterprise, a division of AMA dedicated to helping enterprise and government organizations transform enterprise-wide talent to fuel a culture of innovation and high performance. Ms. Edwards has been a featured speaker at conferences and client events worldwide, including the 2011 and 2010 ASTD International Conferences. She is co-author of the book The High Performance Sales Organization, a contributor to the book The Alligator Trap, and author of multiple articles on workplace issues.
Ms. Edwards’ workshop, Putting Success Back Into Succession Planning For Leadership, Management and Supervisory Development, offered concrete steps government training officers can implement today to put success back into succession planning for their organization. A survey around succession planning was also distributed at the conference; to participate in this survey, please visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/Y8HYGKG.
“As the global leader of talent transformation dedicated to providing workplace learning for enterprise and government organizations, we at AMA Enterprise Government Solutions take training seriously,” said Edwards. “We were honored to share our insights on this topic with this dedicated group of government training and development specialists. And the survey will help us gather additional knowledge about current succession planning programs for managers and supervisors.”
