ABB achieves a major milestone in industrial robotics
Press release from: ABB Robotics
Yingkou Jinchen specializes in professional high-end intelligent automation in the field of new energy and photovoltaic. The eventual user of the robot, Canadian Solar, is one of the world’s largest solar module producers. They are a leading provider of ingots, wafers, solar cells, solar modules, solar power systems and specialized solar products across the globe.
A celebration ceremony was held on March 27, 2012 at Yingkou Jinchen Machinery Co., Ltd and was attended by Mr Per Vegard Nerseth, Head of ABB Robotics, Mr Li Yisheng, president of Yingkou Jinchen and Mr Liu Huanxin, deputy mayor of Yingkou.
Commenting on this significant event, Nerseth said “Approximately half of all industrial robots worldwide are installed at automobile manufacturers and their suppliers. But in recent years the non-automotive sector has grown significantly in industries such food, electrical/electronics and alternative energy (solar and wind) equipment manufacturing.
So it seems rather appropriate that our 200,000 robot will be working on PV Solar modules in China. The expansion of robots into the general industrial sector is driven by several key factors, most notably the ability of robots to increase the productivity whilst at the same time delivering consistently high product quality. Companies adopting robotics are rewarded with fast ROIs and the benefits of moving employees out of dull, dirty, delicate and dangerous jobs into tasks with greater satisfaction and long term rewards."
Mr Li Yisheng, president of Yingkou Jinchen commented on the event "The 200,000th robot delivered is a successful cooperation between ABB and Jinchen. ABB provide strong technical support to Jinchen. We believe we will together offer more robot automation solutions to solar manufacturers."
In 1974 ABB (then known as Asea) introduced the first all-electric robot on the market, the IRB 6. Today ABB offers over 25 different robot models to match the needs of a wide range of applications and industries. And this offer is fully supported with extensive systems integration capability and a global network of sales and service professionals in over 53 countries

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
