District Cooling – solution for Kuwait’s cooling needs

Press release from: Fleming Gulf Conferences
Fleming Gulf will host Power and District Cooling Summit under the esteemed patronage of The Ministry Of Electricity & Water, Kuwait between 29 April – 01 May 2012 at JW Marriott in Kuwait.

Eng. Ahmed Khaled Al-Jassar, Undersecretary and Dr. Mishan Al Otaibi – Assistant Undersecretary Planning and Training from The Ministry Of Electricity & Water, Kuwait will join industry leaders to advocate the need for  effective and efficient technologies for Kuwait’s cooling needs.

With increasing temperatures and extended durations this summer, Kuwait will consume about 67% of its total power consumption to cool buildings which are currently using traditional air conditioning systems. While there exists a notion of higher investment cost required to set up a District Cooling plant, the clear advantages of controlling and lowering down the energy consumption over-rides the initial capital investments. Adopting District Cooling in Kuwait will not only help drive energy efficiency but will also create unique opportunities that foster employment and drive industrial diversification.

Senior delegations from government and authoritative bodies along with leading solution providers like Wartsila, Equate, TAS, SPIG, Nalco, Sipos Aktorik, Saia Burges, Kamstrup, Belven, Hamon and Carrier will propogate the need for this technology and the solutions on how they can help Kuwait lower its energy usage.
