Bryant & Stratton College Online Hosts Career Webinar: How to Negotiate a Better Job Offer
Press release from: Communications Strategy Group
PR Agency: Straight Line PR
Webinar will teach attendees strategies to make a job offer go from good to great
Buffalo, NY, April 12, 2012 - Bryant & Stratton College Online announced today a new session in its ongoing free career training webinar series. Titled “How to Negotiate a Job Offer,” the free webinar is available to job seekers, prospective students and current Bryant & Stratton College Online students. This session will take place on Wednesday, April 25, from noon to 1:00 p.m. EST.
Acclaimed career coach Kim Dority will lead the webinar. Ms. Dority is a frequent presenter for Bryant & Stratton College Online and has been writing about and teaching courses on career training for more than a decade.
“A lot of people, especially women, view a job offer as a one-way street. Knowing what is negotiable and how to ask for it is almost as important as preparing an effective resume or practicing for an interview,” said Dority. “The ability to negotiate is a critical life skill for any job seeker. Knowing how to negotiate empowers you to turn a good job offer into a great job offer.”
The “How to Negotiate a Job Offer” webinar will highlight practical tips in negotiating salary, benefits, vacation days, professional titles and more. Attendees of the webinar will learn how to:
* Prepare for negotiation, from researching existing salaries to creating a “non-negotiables” self-checklist
* Identify what elements in a job offer are negotiable and what are not
* “Talk the talk,” by understanding what to say to help get what they want and what words might cost them a job
“At Bryant & Stratton College Online we are committed to helping our current and prospective students become trained, savvy job seekers; that includes knowing how to negotiate a job offer. Ms. Dority is an accomplished career coach with great knowledge to offer and we are excited to host this webinar at no cost to attendees,” said Scott Traylor, Associate Campus Director for Online Education at Bryant & Stratton College.
The webinar is offered for free by Bryant & Stratton College Online and is open to current students, prospective students and others seeking information to improve their negotiation skills. Those interested in attending are invited to register at online.bryantstratton.edu/webinar/. Additionally, following the webinar, attendees will be able to download a hand-out recapping the top strategies addressed in the session.
