Oliver Wight lead exclusive supply chain optimization day at ESC2012
Press release from: Oliver Wight EAME
PR Agency: RONIN Marketing
Supply chain design and optimization specialists, Oliver Wight are offering the exclusive opportunity for supply chain leaders to attend the pre-conference day at the 10th annual Extended Supply Chain Conference on Monday 16th April 2012, for which they are Lead Sponsor.
The consultancy firm has a limited number of tickets available for the pre-conference day, which kick-starts the three day ESC2012 event at Radisson Blu Hotel, London, and brings together key thought-leaders and innovators in supply chain optimization from across Europe. In addition to providing the opportunity for delegates from a range of industry sectors to network, there will be a series of interactive workshops, panel discussions and presentations on how to increase visibility, lower inventory and improve efficiency across the entire supply chain – critical in the current economic climate.
“The health of any organisation depends more than ever on its ability to successfully meet the demands of its customers,” explains Oliver Wight CEO, Les Brookes. “With this comes increasing pressure for businesses to become more agile, reduce inventory and drive efficiency. It is no longer enough to have your own business under control; optimizing your supply chain is essential for achieving an efficient, profitable business and gaining competitive advantage.” Brookes will be presenting at the event, along with a number of other leading Oliver Wight partners.
The day will include presentations on a number of supply chain topics, including performance benchmarking and Integrated Business Planning (advanced S&OP), as well as a session on the role of technology in the supply chain, from supply chain solutions provider, Infor. There will also be inspiring case study presentations on global food manufacturer, Heinz; packaging company, Nampak Flexible; and the UK military.
“This conference day is all about helping organisations meet the increasing demands of customers, combining blue sky thinking with the realities of their existing supply chain footprint and infrastructure,” concludes Brookes.
About Oliver Wight
Oliver Wight has a 40 year track record of delivering business improvement to some of the world’s best-known organisations. With a team of professionals offering a wealth of experience, Oliver Wight is the largest consultancy of its type, with offices throughout Europe, South Africa, North and South America, and the Asia Pacific region. We believe that sustainable business improvement can’t be delivered by external consultants but only by our clients’ own people, so unlike other consultancy firms, we transfer our knowledge to them, helping deliver performance levels and financial results that last.
Integrated Business Planning
At the leading edge of management thinking and practice, our Integrated Business Planning (IBP) model lies at the heart of our clients’ journey to outstanding business performance. Oliver Wight are the originators of sales and operations planning (S&OP) and IBP can most simply be described as advanced S&OP. However, unlike S&OP, IBP brings a truly strategic perspective, integrating diverse processes - in the extended supply chain, product and customer portfolios, customer demand and strategic planning - into one seamless management process.
Supply Chain Design and Optimization
Oliver Wight supply chain design and optimization allows organisations to understand their position within the extended supply chain; identify where value is being created and destroyed; develop profitable relationships with suppliers customers and consumers; and optimize their supply chain (however complex) for the ultimate in customer service and business performance.
Performance Benchmarking for Supply Chain
Oliver Wight Performance Benchmarking provides a qualitative and quantitative assessment of supply chain performance, allowing organisations to identify opportunities for improving customer service at the same time as dramatically reducing supply chain costs.
Meeting the Class A Standard
The Oliver Wight Class A Checklist is the longest standing and most successful business assessment tool. The latest, Sixth Edition, raises the bar, and sets ever more demanding standards for companies on their journey to business excellence and the Oliver Wight Class A standard.
