MOL upgrade network: Asia –Mexico, West Coast South America products

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announce the upgrade of Asia – Mexico (CWL) and West Coast South America (MSX) services.

MOL and the consortium partners (K Line and NYK) will consolidate the present two loops (WL1, which is operated by nominal 4,400teu class ships and WL2, which is operated by nominal 2,500teu class ships) and will deploy over-panamax vessels, nominal 5,600-6,500 teu class ships, on the new CWL service. MOL expects the upgrade to provide a more stable service and efficient operations by this change.

MOL will maintain Asia – Buenaventura- Guayaquil coverage by trans-shipment from/to the new Mexico –West Coast South America feeder service (MSX).

MOL will meet the customer needs by providing high-quality direct services and by providing variety of port coverage continuously.

• New CWL service (77 days rotation x 11 vessel, weekly)
Rotation:
Keelung – Hong Kong – Da Chan Bay – Xiamen – Shanghai – Ningbo – Pusan – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Callao – Iquique – Valparaiso – Lirquen – Callao – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Tokyo – Keelung

1st vessel of new CWL service :
MV George Washington Bridge calling at Keelung on 26th April, 2012.

• MSX service (21 days rotation x 3 vessel, weekly)
Rotation:
Manzanillo (Mexico) – Buenaventura – Callao – Guayaquil – Manzanillo (Mexico)

1st vessel of new MSX service :
MV Wellington Express calling at Manzanillo on 25th May, 2012.
