Dublin firm to target the Insurance Market with its mobile data backup services
Press release from: SIMchronise Ltd.
(openPR) - As mobile phones are becoming an integral part of our life and daily activities, they are also changing the way we live. We now rely heavily on mobile devices to store large amounts of valuable personal and business data that we need at our fingertips at all times in order to stay connected, organised or even entertained.
This has led insurance companies to extend their traditional policies to a much wider range of products such as mobile devices and gizmos. People can now insure their ipod, MP3 player, PDA, portable game console, mobile phone and so on...
The Irish provider of wireless mobile data synchronisation solutions, SIMchronise, has started negociations with insurance companies in Ireland and the UK to provide them with a service that would allow them to backup and restore the mobile data, such as contacts and calendar information contained in their customers' mobile phones.
"We operate in a market driven by handset loss, theft, damage and upgrade. Therefore, we see a strong complementarity between our mobile data backup service and the mobile phone insurance market." says Philippe Joly, SIMchronise CEO
There are over 2 billion mobile phone subscribers worldwide and more than half of them are not using another addressbook. Logically, trends show that mobile subscribers increasignly express a strong need for a mechanism to backup the contacts entered into their mobile handsets.
SIMchronise has built a wireless backup service that is easy and safe to use for the subscriber. Subscribers can backup their contact over the air (no need for cables, Infrared or Bluetooth). The contact and calendar data can securely be accessed and managed over the internet and can be easily restored to a new phone.
SIMchronise's platform allow for a rapid deployment of a white-labelled solution in any country, virtually any language, and most importantly at a low cost.
To date the company has targeted markets that it knows well, but judging by the positive response received from insurance companies locally, SIMchronise is confident that its backup solutions will attract insurance companies worldwide."
