Julio Lugo Rivas’ Organic Visions at Agora Gallery
Press release from: Agora Gallery
A harmonic sense of balance and motion rests at the heart of all the works of Puerto Rican artist Julio Lugo Rivas, as he seeks to express the stability between disease and wellness. Capturing the microscopic universe of cells and their environment in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, Lugo paints an ethereal and energetic vision, creating an organic abstraction in his mix of atmospheric brushstrokes, staccato splatters, and delicate line work. Lugo builds a deep and murky dreamworld of darkness and illumination as he investigates interactions between clouds, geometric shapes, and cellular forms, graphically exploring scientific theories of microcosms and the great expanse of the cosmos.
Lugo began his artistic journey at the Fine Arts School of Ponce, a high school program for particularly promising students. He also devoted time to his studies in science and medicine, receiving a degree in Biology and later a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Puerto Rico. Currently working as a pharmacist in addition to his career as a professional artist, Julio Lugo-Rivas works to bring these two separate fields together visually in his art.

About the Exhibition:
Two excellent collective exhibitions will be gracing the walls of Agora Gallery this spring, in addition to a remarkable solo exhibition featuring the works of Austrian artist Fred Friedrich. Elements of Abstraction presents art with the ability to induce a shift in perspective, allowing the viewer to reach new conclusions about what they see and experience that vision in different ways. Portals of Perception displays works which seem to breathe with creative energy and inspiration, and a passionate joy in the world and its complexities which they pass, in turn, to those who see them. In Fin de Ciel: Fred Friedrich / a Solo Exhibition the audience is introduced to the tremendously powerful artwork of a man who is constantly engaged in exploring the balance between the figurative and the abstract, the fluid and the definite. The result is a mesmerizing collection of works which speak across barriers of culture, place or time to reach fundamental elements of existence. The exhibitions will begin on March 30, 2012 and will run until April 19, 2012. The opening reception will take place on April 5, 2012. Entrance is free and all art enthusiasts are warmly encouraged to attend and meet the artists responsible for these enthralling creations.

Comments about openPR
Your portal is fast, simple, and easy to use. Others may have more functions but they also demand more editing time, you have to preformat the text in order to achieve a good result etc.
I think openPR is really fantastic!
