Press release from: ChannelWiki.org

Advancing the channel through collaboration.

Advancing the channel through collaboration.

A new collaborative wiki site at ChannelWiki.org is now available for the benefit of all within the IT channel. The site provides a platform for forward thinking channel members to advance best practices, raise value and facilitate collaboration.

ChannelWiki.org spokesperson, Mr. Robert Nagy, is quietly confident about the channel’s adoption of a wiki site. “Many organizations will be interested, though it will take some time”, claims Nagy. Indeed, a few visionary organizations will be required to lead the way.

One area channel members may see benefit in collaborating is in the advancement of channel management best practices. The channel would gain from encouraging practices leading to increased efficiency and effectiveness. The available resource pool will become more qualified and capable, ultimately leading to a greater number of qualified personnel. This is of prime significance in locales where senior channels practitioners are dwindling in number.

“The channel would certainly benefit from capturing as much of the current best practice as possible and refining this over time”, states Nagy. A wiki platform is an ideal way to do this, particularly considering the depth and breadth of knowledge available from dozens and perhaps hundreds of contributors and editors.

ChannelWiki.org may also be utilized by forward thinking organizations to solicit feedback and improvements on their channel and certification programs. Further evolution could see the platform act as a repository of valuable sales and marketing information geared specifically towards the channel. Vendors, distributors and resellers alike could contribute to and benefit from timely and relevant information via a central source. Channel sales and marketing personnel will have better access to the information they need. Customers may also be empowered to obtain relevant details themselves.

Nagy adds that “whilst a wiki site [such as ChannelWiki.org] is not for every channel member, the site will no doubt attract the most forward thinking who will find a range of reasons to participate.”

Whatever an organization’s stance on a wiki for the channel, it is undeniably here and very much ready for action. Organizations quick to adopt the platform will lead the way into a new era of thought leadership and advancement within the channel.

The ultimate upside for astute organizations could be a lasting and deeply entrenched repution for adding value within the channel, leading to better quality channel partnerships, greater mindshare with key partners and consistently higher revenues.

ChannelWiki.org provides a collaborative platform for commercial enterprises involved in the development, production, distribution, marketing and sale of technology. The platform allows for organizations and individuals to contribute towards a body of knowledge regarding best practices and programs for the technology channel.
