Wendy Moore to address Summit for Rural Leaders
Press release from: Savvy Web Women
Wendy Moore, international best-selling author, speaker and online engagement strategist will tackle the topic The Power of Social Media in Business when she speaks at the fifth annual Rural Summit in Port Fairy from 18 to 20 April.
Wendy Moore said the Rural Summit is an opportunity to join others from government, community and industry in sharing ideas and strategies to create a stronger future for rural towns.
“This year’s Summit, taking place in the Moyne Shire in Victoria’s south west, will emphasise the need for rural Victorians to do things differently. It’s critical that rural communities equip themselves with the information and skills necessary to drive economic recovery and long term sustainability,” explained Wendy.
“My discussion will look at applying social media to rural communities, businesses and local government: How do remote and rural communities, businesses and local governments overcome the challenges of isolation to connect with and influence their key target audience – be they across the road or across the globe?,” Wendy said.
“The Summit is designed to stimulate economic awareness and enable councils and communities to act collaboratively and create an environment where local business and civic enterprises flourish.
“I am looking forward to contributing to the discussions and clearly demonstrating to those attending the amazing power of social media and how to reach out to those an organisation needs to communicate with, be it constituents, members of community, clients or customers,” Wendy said.
The Rural Summit 2012 will take place at the Victoria Hotel in Port Fairy, starting on Wednesday 18 and continuing through to Friday 20 April. Visit www.ruralsummit2012.com.au to read the program in more detail and make a booking. The Rural Summit is proudly supported by Rural Councils Victoria.
