New Delhi: December 26, 2011: Adding a new dimension to LIVE Sports Engagement, PlayUp, the global leader in live and interactive social mobile gaming today announced the launch of the Beta version of its application on web and mobile after a great success on iOs platform. The app provides a dimension to sports fans to follow their choice of sport from thousands of live games in real time. At the same time fans can discuss the action with fellow followers on their mobile and computing devices. PlayUp’s beta version will further harness the cricket fever in the region and allows millions of India-Australia series fans to create private rooms and banter as the real action unfolds on ground.

By creating a never before experienced interactive platform for sports lovers and social networkers, PlayUp has also achieved the No.1 position as the sub- continent sports brand on world’s most popular social media platform. PlayUp has received a funding of AU$ 5m on an AU$20m pre money valuation in 2007 and has been showing remarkable progress by building up an AU$ 19m on an AU$70m pre money valuation during 2008-9 which topped US$50m on an US$200m pre money valuation during 2010-11. Downloaded over 512,646 times over the past two months, PlayUp has been raking up the moolah which has helped in ascending the leader board in countries like Australia and USA where it is on the #5 spot. With an investment topping US$ 5m-7m exclusively in India, the results show on the India leader board as well where it is currently ranked #6 amongst all applications.

A free-to-use mobile and computing application, PlayUp in its Beta avatar enables sports fans to follow Cricket scores and stats LIVE while providing a platform for friends to message around the action through their mobile devices and computers. Including real-time scoring and stats, along with the option to create private rooms to discuss the action with friends or join public rooms to interact with fans from around the world, the app also covers 19 sports across 45 countries making it easy for fans to talk about sport wherever they are.

Commenting on the launch of the beta version, Rajat Kulshrestha, CEO, PlayUp India said, “Launching PlayUp Beta on the occasion of the legendary cricket series between India and Australia is a huge step for us. We all know how this series swings the cricketing fortunes of both the cricket playing countries and this time we wish to expand the experience of being a part of the game to our subscribers as well. Through PlayUp, cricket aficionados can be a part of the game, share experiences and put in their comments on play sequences which gives them an opportunity to live the game. Knowing how passionate people are of both the countries about the series, we intend to give them a 360° experience of the game.”

Steve Waugh, the brand ambassador of PlayUp says, "The unique feature of PlayUp is that it enables sports fans to take part in the atmosphere of the game even when they can’t be at the ground. The great thing about sport is everyone has an opinion –you want your mates to think your opinion is the right one and vice-versa. What I love about PlayUp is that it allows you to easily talk about a situation or phase of the game - and you can voice this opinion easily through the iPhone app or website as you are watching the game.”

The beta version of PlayUp is available at beta.playup.com/ where one can log in and join the room discussing the ongoing India – Australia Test Series.
