CWC Announces Official Partners for the Prestigious Global Water: Oil & Gas Summit 2012
Press release from: The CWC
1 March 2012: HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum announces he has given his patronage to the Global Water - Oil & Gas Summit to be held at the Hotel Madinat Jumeirah - Mina A' Salam, Dubai on 22-23 May 2012.
“Global Water: Oil & Gas Summit ” will take place in Dubai and will bring together senior experts in oil and gas engineering, geology, logistics, construction, refining and project management together with senior executives from the water industry; providing a platform to discuss the role and demand of water in the oil and gas industry.
The Summit has the official partnership and support of the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, Dubai Government and Dubai Supreme Council of Energy as well as the support of the Global Water Intelligence, International Private Water Association and the International World Water Council.
The International Energy Agency predicts oil and gas will meet the majority of the world’s energy demand for the foreseeable future raising the spot light on the role water plays in oil and gas production. Oil and gas companies looking to achieve sustainable growth will increasingly have to manage their water footprint, as well as their carbon footprint.
Frederic Ponton, Director of Government Relation for the Summit said that never has there been more the need for collaboration between these sectors in order to secure the future of world energy demands.
Water is essential to production growth and generates significant costs said Shane White the Project Manager at CWC Group, the event organiser; oil and gas companies are placing greater focus on water as a strategic part of the value chain, water is no longer an environmental issue and managing water resources require a strategic approach he added.
The two day conference will discuss the major issues that affect the water, oil and gas industries and will look at a range of international case studies providing a forum for leading experts to discuss similarities, opportunities and experiences of water management in the oil and gas industry.
The world’s regions, governments and businesses are realising that while oil and gas reserves provide wealth they can not substitute for the most basic commodities – Water and without sufficient water management oil and gas production in areas such as the Middle East and Central America will begin to decline.
Industry support to date includes MBM Holdings, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, CH2MHILL, Bauer Resources and AES Arabia Ltd.
