Cabinet NG Announces CNG-SAFE 7.5

User Enhanced Document Management and Electronic Workflow Features

HUNTSVILLE, AL – March 5, 2012 – Cabinet NG (CNG), provider of electronic document management and workflow management software, today announced the release of CNG-SAFE 7.5, the latest version of its complete document management and workflow software product. A main component of this latest release includes automated PDF form field population, user customized displays, and enhancements to CNG-Books, CNG’s award winning plug-in for QuickBooks.

A major step that most businesses take as they transition to a paperless office is converting paper forms into electronic PDFs. While the benefits are significant from using stand-alone PDF forms, CNG-SAFE 7.5 delivers additional value by pre-populating a PDF form with information already entered in CNG-SAFE, such as name, address, account number, etc. The result is improved efficiency and reduction of time and expense associated with creating forms, collecting form data, and minimized data entry errors. PDF Form data can also be used to populate tables in the CNG database for reporting and aggregate data analysis. CNG-SAFE’s PDF form implementation is very similar to its CNG-FORMS offering, except PDFs are based on open industry standards. When using a full version of Acrobat, the document can even be signed with a Topaz signature pad or by inserting a digital signature.

Custom Columns allows users to define what information is displayed in folder, workflow and scheduled item lists. In addition to standard column information being turned on or off for display, up to five user defined columns are permitted. Any folder information (folder indexes) can be selected by the user. Customization is on a per user basis so someone working in accounting can display an entirely different set of columns than someone working in sales.

“We perform daily status checks on thousands of parts and Custom Columns lets us list the part ID, equipment type and test status without opening a single folder,” said James Womack, data entry manager, Tilley Pressure Test, Inc., a provider of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes to clients in the aerospace, defense and oil field services. “Sorting by columns also lets us group all passed and failed parts so operators can instantly identify what parts need further attention. The time savings is incredible. What used to take hours can now be accomplished with a single click.”

CNG-Books, the industry’s first document management integration for QuickBooks, also received a new set of capabilities. Keyword entry, credit entry recognition, document attachments, reference number prefill control and user defined memo field text are now supported.

QuickBooks data entry, document filing, and linking to other filed documents are performed in one simple operation.”
