Lazaraga Gold Resources LTD. Analysts Say China to become World’s Biggest Gold Market

As the world’s biggest consumer of energy and base metals, China is set to become the world’s biggest gold user and beating India this year. This is based on a yearly surging gains drive increased demand for jewelry and investments.

In 2011, Lazaraga Gold Resources LTD. saw consumption in China climbing 20 percent to 769.8 metric tons while demand in India fell 7 percent to 933.4 metric tons. They have forecasted that for the first time that China is likely to emerge as the world’s largest gold market.

The growth in China’s economy pushed the nation’s gold consumption ahead of everything from soybeans to copper, increasing income in the world’s most populous country.

Last year, demand for jewelry in China surged every quarter and in the second half, the country was the largest such market across the globe. On a quarterly basis up until December 31 of last year, China was already the top consumer with demand at 190.9 tons compared with India’s 173 tons.
