Three attorneys with Arnold LaRochelle Mathews VanConas & Zirbel LLP have taken on new professional leadership positions. Kendall VanConas has been named co-chairperson of the Ventura County Bar Association’s Bench-Bar Committee, and Susan McCarthy has been elected vice president of the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association. Robert Krimmer has been elected president of the Ventura County Bar Association’s Barristers Section and was selected to participate in Leadership Ventura, a two-year leadership program offered through the Ventura Chamber of Commerce.

VanConas is the supervising partner of the Conservatorships and Elder Law, Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Administration Practice Group. She is a Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law, as Certified by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization, and has been active with the Ventura County Bar Association since the early years of her practice. She has served on the Client Relations Committee for more than 10 years and on the Executive Committee of the Probate & Estate Planning Section (chair, 2007 – 2009). In 2008, Kendall began serving on the Executive Committee and in 2010 served as president of the organization.

A civil litigator, McCarthy serves on the board of directors of Goodwill Industries of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, Inc., is the firm’s representative to the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Sandpipers Toastmasters Club. She serves on the Ventura County Bar Association’s board of directors and is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association’s Business Litigation Section Steering Committee. She has been on the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association’s board of directors since 2008 and served two terms as secretary prior to her new position.

Krimmer practices Water and Wastewater Law and has been active with the Barristers Section for four years. He helped launch the Ventura Family YMCA’s "Take it to the Court" 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a joint effort between the YMCA and the Barristers Section and whose proceeds provide scholarships for disadvantaged families in the area. In Leadership Ventura, he and the other participants will hone their leadership skills and work in small groups to conceptualize and implement projects that will benefit the community. Krimmer’s group is developing a project to assist Ventura’s homeless.
