The ABO is the largest and most prestigious opticians’ certification organization in the world that only recognizes individuals whose opticianry skills and knowledge meet pre-determined standards of excellence. Meghan successfully met all program requirements and demonstrated competency in ophthalmic dispensing as part of the skills assessment test and exams administered by the ABO. Exams cover areas for analyzing and interpreting prescriptions; identifying proper lenses and frames required for a patient; demonstrating an ability to operate, maintain, adjust and calibrate equipment; and analyzing data findings to properly determine a patient’s vision needs.
