(openPR) - DALLAS – Godwin Ronquillo PC, a national trial and appellate firm with offices in Dallas and Houston, is pleased to announce that Robert C. Wiegand has been named as the Firm’s Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Wiegand, who assumed his new duties as of February 13, 2012, previously served as Godwin Ronquillo’s Administrative Shareholder, where he managed the daily operations of the Firm. He also holds the position of Vice President of the Firm’s Executive Committee and serves as Co-Chair of the commercial litigation section.

The position of COO was previously held by Godwin Ronquillo President Marcos G. Ronquillo, who commended Mr. Wiegand's promotion, saying, "This change will allow Bob to use his extraordinary talents in managing our Firm on a day-to-day basis, while also freeing me up to continue my focus on increasing the Firm's client base and presence in the community. We believe this change will increase the depth of our management and result in our Firm's continued success and growth in the years to come."

Mr. Wiegand is a commercial and banking litigation shareholder, representing businesses and individuals in complex business disputes, including cases involving breach of contract, partnership disputes, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, commercial and residential construction, real estate, and defamation. He graduated, cum laude, from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1994. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas in 1991.
