(openPR) - The 10th Annual Motif Charity Walk – 2012

Motif, a leading BPO and KPO services provider, organized its 10th Annual Motif Charity Walk in Ahmedabad today. This event provides a transparent platform to individuals and companies to come together to promote health awareness and raise funds for different NGOs every year. The 5 km walk / 10 km run was flagged off from the L. D. College of Engineering ground, and passed by the B. K. School of Management, Vijay Char Rasta, Helmet Char Rasta, Blind Men’s Association, IIMA and PRL. The highlight of this year’s event was a flash mob dance that had several participants dancing enthusiastically.
The beneficiary NGOs of this year’s Charity Walk are:
 Ahmedabad Women’s Action Group: Empowers women to survive, develop potential, and get social justice and equality
 Avbodh Knowledge Foundation Ltd.: Rural empowerment through education, vocational opportunities and healthcare
 Menaba Charitable Trust: Runs a rehabilitation centre and care shelter for physically and and/or mentally challenged girls
 Unteshwari Mata Maria Trust: Runs a center for community based rehabilitation that provides inclusive education for disabled children

47 companies sponsored this year’s Charity Walk to raise funds for four NGOs. A total of Rs. 49 lacs were raised this year through individual registrations, Motif’s matching contribution of Rs. 10 lacs, and sponsorship cheques written directly in the name of the NGOs. The event had 7000 participants.
