EQF-iServe European Project- European Internet Related Services Professions
Press release from: Euproma
Euproma is member of the European Consortium that develops the EQF-iServe project, which started on November 2010 and is funded by the Leonardo Da Vicni Program, of the European Commission. The partnership is form by 8 organizations: The Forum of e-Excellence (UK); Euproma (Germany); GAIA (Spain); Matisz (Hungary); Maison de la Promotion Sociale (France); Paita (UK), SwissMedia (Switzerland); and WIFI (Austria).
The EQF-iServe team decided to tackle the growing skills shortage in the internet-related jobs in several European countries (e.g. Germany, Hungary, and Switzerland). Under this objective, the partnership first defined national qualification profiles in the field of internet-related services described by learning outcomes. These qualifications were linked to the eCF and EQF (European Qualification Frameworks), to reach a European scope.
To this time, five comprehensive European Qualification Profiles for jobs in the field of internet-related services have been set up: Internet Hotline Operator, Online Community Manager, Usability Specialist, Web Marketer, and Web Seller, which have been strictly defined taking into account the specific needs of the Internet Industry. The project is currently in the phase of “evaluation”, where the respective profiles must be evaluated by key stakeholders of the ICT field and Training Institutions for their validation. The evaluation can be carried out in the following website: www.e-jobs-observatory.eu/jobs_profiles.
An important challenge is to draw the attention of the Vocational, Education and Training (VET) organizations to adapt their training offer to the requirements of the market. In this sense, the iServe team is developing a “Guidelines for the development of trainings in Internet-related Service Professions”, which will provide a comprehensible and practical methodology to structure learning units that should be trained in this field, bases on learning outcomes, methods of evaluation, the ssuccess factors for training Internet-related Services Professions, among others.
The final results of the project will be presented in a special event that will be held in the city of Bordeaux, France, in March of this year, and will be open to the professionals of the field that are interested to attend.
Euproma is committed to the professional provision of advisory services for the successful development and implementation of EU-projects and nationally funded cooperation projects. We specialise in advising institutions and organisations mainly in the field of education, further education and vocational training, but also in other sectors such as Multimedia and ICT. Furthermore Euproma provides advanced vocational trainings for project management professionals in international project management, moderation and quality management.
