(openPR) - Management Board members Dr. Böhm and Mr. Bogenschütz officially inaugurated a new development site in Germany.

The inauguration of the new Medos site is a further step forwards in the company's consistent implementation of its defined strategy of creating new technologies and therapeutic concepts. Medos develops, manufactures and markets products and therapies in the field of cardiac surgery for the treatment of heart attacks.

The new development department in Reutlingen, Germany, will start out with highly-qualified employees; specialists from the fields of software, electronics and design engineering who have already developed outstanding medical technology devices and acquired valuable experience in the area of drive console development. Under the management of Mr. Reinhold Beuter, device development at Medos is to undergo speedy continued expansion and be ramped-up to the desired level of technology leadership.

Choosing the site in the south of Germany, alongside the two existing German sites in Stolberg near Aachen and Radeberg near Dresden, continues the company's consistent, quality-driven strategy of developing and producing exclusively in Germany, true to the claim of "Made in Germany".
The Reutlinger location was choosen because its proximity to the universities and institutes of Tuebingen/ Stuttgart and the university hospitals- is central to the philosophy – the customers of Medos. The newly established inter-university course at the university of Tuebingen / Stuttgart in the field of medical technology was another decisive argument for the choice of location. "We look forward to the graduates from this area and provide ideal conditions in a highly interesting and exciting environment," said Josef Bogenschuetz, Director of Sales and technologies.

For Medos, research and development expansion does not merely equate to the optimisation of current hardware but also to the launch of development of entirely new systems which will further improve the treatment of severely ill patients. In achieving this, Medos is engaged in extensive co-operation with leading heart surgeons and perfusionists from both Germany and abroad. "Our goal is to understand the needs and requirements of users and use, thereby contributing a significant part of a successful therapy for patients," said Dr. Juergen Boehm, Director of Marketing and Medical Director of Medos.
