Indochina opens up via a Scenic Cycling Ride & Adventure through Vietnam’s & Laos’ Countryside
Press release from: Exotissimo Travel
(openPR) - Exotissimo Travel, Asia’s leading Destination Management Company is offering an exclusive Indochina cycling and adventure tour through the countryside and rural settlements of Vietnam and Laos. Named Legacies of War and spanning two countries in the region, the itinerary touches upon the area’s beautiful natural terrain and the culture of the people living there.
“No, our Legacies of War program is not a tour focusing on the conflicts of the Vietnam War”, remarked Louise Nathan, Product and Marketing Manager at Exotissimo Travel. “Although there are few instances where the history of the war and its profound effects are touched, the program mainly deals with each country’s beautiful rural scenery and the humble lives people are leading more than 40 years after the great conflict. The tour is also a great adventure program, with over 200 kilometers of cycling along with light treks and kayaking added in as well.”
The first five days of the program are spent in Vietnam, cycling through diverse landscapes as well as visiting various villages and towns in Northern Vietnam, starting from Hanoi. The region is also well-known for its limestone formations and rich tropical forests, a pure treat to the senses when one is on a bike and cycling amongst these natural wonders.
The adventure continues in the landlocked country, with similar scenes of jungles, mountains, as well as historic temples and waterfalls. There are also opportunities for the traveler to learn about ancient weaving and blacksmithing technique from several rural villages. A highlight in Laos includes a stop at the Viengxay Caves where 20,000 people once built hidden underground cities while escaping the war. The area have only recently opened up to visitors. The itinerary in Laos concludes amongst glittering temples and European structures in the UNESCO Heritage Town of Luang Prabang.
