(openPR) - Annual Conference Promotes The Benefits Of Breastfeeding & Education Nationwide

Sacramento, CA (January 25, 2012) – Brilliant Breastfeeding, a growing collective of innovative nursing products and essentials, will be participating in this year’s annual 2012 California Breastfeeding Summit in Sacramento, CA. Formed in 2003, the California Breastfeeding Coalition (CBC) works towards establishing a healthier California through the support, promotion and the encouragement of breastfeeding.

As any pediatrician or parent can attest, breast milk provides all of the essential nutrients babies need in the first months of life while reducing the risk for infection and certain chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and asthma. This year, companies founded by moms such as Simple Wishes, S.O.F.T Style/Bamboobies, Undercover Mama and Milk Makers, all a part of Brilliant Breastfeeding, will be in attendance. Every year the CBC allocates specific summit goals for each event; this year’s conference includes the building of support within the community, incorporation of babies’ behavior in health care practices, implementation of maternity care policies and practices in hospitals, and use and promotion of the SOFT approach. Efforts are proving effective resulting in California now providing 45 baby-friendly hospitals. With the 43 regional breastfeeding leagues found throughout California, the CBC functions as the umbrella organization for every regional based coalition.
