AFCEA NOVA Celebrates its 31st Annual Valentine’s Ball
Press release from: AFCEA NOVA
(openPR) - Tysons Corner, VA – January 19, 2012 – AFCEA NOVA, the largest chapter in the AFCEA International family, today announced that its upcoming 31st Annual Valentine’s Ball is close to sold out. The event, scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the newly renovated Hilton McLean in Tysons Corner, has long been considered one of the premiere social events within the Washington metropolitan community, and this year is no exception.
“We’re very pleased by the incredible positive response we’ve gotten to this event, again this year,” said Chuck Corjay, Chairman of the AFCEA NOVA Valentine’s Ball. “We understand this is a tough year for many companies, so we are truly appreciative that so many outstanding organizations have stepped up and committed to this event, where any excess proceeds go towards educational scholarships through the AFCEA NOVA Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are provided to students in the Northern Virginia area studying the hard sciences including mathematics, information technology, computer science, and others – it truly is a great way to give back to our industry and our community.”
The Ball brings together nearly 700 industry, military, and federal government telecommunications and IT professionals and their spouses, in an elegant, fun social environment. The black tie gala includes a reception, musical entertainment, dinner and dancing. This year, the Victory Belles, a charming vocal trio, will take guests on a nostalgic journey through World War II-era musical classics. The Victory Belles perform often at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans and at special events around the world, honoring our military through their rich harmony.
Companies interested in participating can register at: www.afceanova.org/vball. Since this event is always sold-out, companies will be limited to two tables, on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no individual tickets sold.
AFCEA NOVA is the largest Chapter in the AFCEA International family, with approximately 7,000 members, and an equal number of associates and friends in industry, government, & academia. AFCEA International is a worldwide nonprofit professional association founded as the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
