(openPR) - Barrie, ON May 18, 2007 - From June 14th to September 9th, everyone is invited to take part in this urban art experience that brings art to the streets of downtown Barrie. Delivering over 32 artists’ works throughout 11 public and 23 private locations, UrbanVisons07 marks the third-biennial exhibition in the Shorelines series.
“We are very excited to announce UrbanVisions 07”, said Sarah Beveridge, Gallery Curator, “This is a highly visible exhibition of regional and national artists’ works that were carefully selected from a number of submissions, that really address the urban space of the downtown Barrie environment, as well as the nearby waterfront”
To accompany this outdoor exhibition, there will be two informational pieces offered:
- a passport that will include biographies of the artists and a profile of their work. The distribution centres of this passport will include Tourism Barrie, Ontario Travel and The MacLarenArtCentre
- www.urbanvisions07.com, a dedicated website for the exhibition which will include links to the artists and background on their work, including information on the installation sites
The exhibition coincides with many of the festivities that take place in Barrie including Celebrate Barrie and Kempenfest and will prove to be the talk of the summer!
