London–18 January 2012–Spreadshirt (www.spreadshirt.co.uk), the leading multi-channel clothing commerce platform, continues to benefit from the growing shift to shopping on the web as it today announced its record-breaking December results. The company saw UK sales increase 49% year-on-year and an impressive 75% globally.

The online e-commerce platform experienced profitable growth across all business units in 2011, with the increase in revenue primarily driven by developments in the North American market. Demand in this market has been growing rapidly that sales rose 129% last month despite reduced marketing. In addition to its factory in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, the company now expects to open its second US factory in the summer of 2012.

European markets also showed strong December results with an average 52% growth in the EU market as a whole, with France at 89% proving to be the fastest growing European country.

Philip Rooke, CEO, explains “In Europe we are the market leading platform for print on demand customisable clothing. More and more businesses and brands are learnng how to utilise the Spreadshirt platfrom to monitise their brands. At the same time consumers’ increasing understanding of what our platform can offer especially discovering that a customised piece of clothing makes a great gift at a very reasonable price!” Mr Rooke adds “Although these numbers are for December alone, they mirror Spreadshirt’s remarkable Q4 results and looks like 2012 is progressing at the same speed and success."

With currently more than 350 employees worldwide, Spreadshirt has continued to strengthen its team. The departments Customer Service, Online Marketing and IT, in particular saw considerable reinforcement in 2011.
