Caboodles Celebrates 25 Trendsetting Years
Press release from: Caboodles
PR Agency: K101
(openPR) - CHICAGO [January 2012] – Turning twenty-five – It’s kind of a big deal. For many women, it’s the age they start to come into their own and being confident, flirty, and fun takes on a whole new look. This is also true for Caboodles, as the original cosmetic organizer celebrates its 25th birthday in 2012. The brand that launched an 80’s phenomenon with its iconic pink box now offers a sophisticated product line that’s become an essential part of the daily routine of millions.
It all started innocently in 1986 when People magazine ran a picture of Vanna White using a plastic tackle box to house her make-up. The idea was planted, and shortly thereafter the Caboodles brand was launched, simultaneously creating the “cosmetic organization” product category, which has become a multi-million dollar business. Over the years Caboodles has grown up alongside its loyal fans, expanding its products to offer refined designs and modern patterns to appeal to a variety of styles and tastes.
“We hear it all the time… women and girls of all ages love their Caboodles,” said Kathy Hurt Caboodles Director of Marketing & Product Development. “Many grew up storing their scrunchies, BFF necklaces, and Wet-n-Wild make-up in the classic pink Caboodles case. Now they are selecting the more sophisticated Caboodles to house their current beauty essentials like Nars blush, Essie nail polish and La Mer cream. We’re extremely proud to have evolved from a piece of pop culture to a staple in generations of women’s lives.”
In keeping with its celebrity start, Caboodles is still generating Hollywood buzz. With appearances on “Project Runway,” “Gossip Girl,” and “Desperate Housewives,” as well as on the arms of Hollywood celebrities like Whitney Port, Khloe Kardashian, Christina Applegate, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Nicki Minaj, the Caboodles brand continues to be a relevant companion for today’s modern woman.
