Call for Papers extended for 1st UTD Project Management Symposium in August

(openPR) - Dallas, Texas—May 16, 2007 — PMForum has announced that the Call for Papers deadline for the 1st UTD Project Management Symposium has been extended to May 31, 2007. The 2 day conference is being organized by the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in association with the Dallas Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and PMForum, Inc. The conference will be held during 6-7 August 2007 at the Plano Center in Plano, Texas, USA.
The 1st Annual UTD Project Management Symposium is being sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management in the School of Management’s Executive Education Center at UTD. The 2 Day event will be the first major project management conference in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area since the PMI’91 Seminars/Symposium 16 years ago. The UTD Symposium will focus on topics important to organizations, industries and the economy of North Texas, including project management on advanced semiconductors, healthcare, information technology, nanotechnology and other types of programs and projects. “This is an opportunity for executives, professionals and organizations in North Texas to participate in a major project management conference without all the travel expenses,” stated James Joiner, Director of UTD’s graduate program in project management. “This will be the first project management conference for UTD, although we hope to make it an annual event. Teaming with PMForum and the PMI Dallas Chapter will help ensure its success,” he added.
Authors will receive a 40% discount and are expected to enroll, attend and present the paper in a formal presentation. Papers shall not have been previously published. Interested authors and paper presenters should forward an abstract, author background and affiliation, and contact information to Judith Aubrey at jxa051000@utdallas.edu. Up to 12 Professional Development Units (PDUs) will be available for attendees plus another five for presenters. UTD’s Project Management Program provides application-oriented education for professionals with significant project, program or general management responsibilities. Established in the Executive Education center in UTD’s School of Management, students have the option of earning a Certificate in Project Management, a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in project management, or a Master of Business Administration degree with project management emphasis. The UTD PM program, originally developed in 1997, is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and is registered with the PMI Registered Education Provider Program (PMI R.E.P.). The program is taught by world-class faculty with a blend of industrial project management, consulting and teaching experience.
