serVonic and AudioCodes can now offer joint solutions focusing on customers and projects in the Microsoft environment. AudioCodes’ media gateways provide connectivity for Microsoft Unified Communications (UC) components, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and Lync Server 2010 with the PSTN, while serVonic’s solutions add fax and unified messaging components.
The Olching-based software provider serVonic – one of the leading vendors in the fields of unified messaging and fax server solutions – and AudioCodes – a leading provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Voice Network products – have successfully tested the IXI-UMS solution from serVonic and Mediant Media Gateways from AudioCodes in the Microsoft Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCC) environment.

While Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 as a groupware system for non-instant messaging represents the ideal platform for a fax server supplement using serVonic’s add-on solution IXI-UMS, Microsoft Lync Server 2010 is used for real-time communications such as video and audio conferencing, instant messaging and telephony-features. AudioCodes Mediant Gateways are among the handful of media gateways that have been certified by Microsoft for use with Microsoft Unified Communications UC. With Mediant Gateways from AudioCodes and serVonic’s fax and unified messaging solutions, customer projects of all sizes can be covered.
Thanks to the flexible architecture and the IXI-UMS VoIPconnect module, serVonic’s software can be installed as a fax server or as a unified messaging system on a separate machine in addition to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and an AudioCodes Mediant Media Gateway. Using the OSN (Open Solution Network) server modules offered by AudioCodes, the IXI-UMS software can also be hosted directly on the Mediant Gateway platform itself.
