Quest CE’s Kentucky NAIC Annuity Training Course Approved
Press release from: Quest CE
Quest CE, premier provider of insurance continuing education and FINRA firm element training and tracking, is proud to announce the approval of their Kentucky NAIC Course. Quest CE’s Kentucky NAIC course provides NAIC training that fulfills Kentucky’s Four Hour NAIC Training Requirement.
In compliance with NAIC course guidelines, Quest CE’s one-time, four hour course covers the necessary requirements of producer licensing for annuity sales in Kentucky and states with similar licensing requirements. Changes to Kentucky Insurance Regulation 806 KAR 9:220 Section 5 regarding “Product Specific Continuing Education Requirements” require that any resident insurance producer selling, soliciting, or negotiation the sale of an annuity, must complete four credit hours of training regarding annuity suitability.
This training requirement begins on January 1st, 2012. Any resident insurance producer who holds a life line of authority on this date shall complete the training requirements within six months of this date to ensure they can continue to legally sell annuity products. Resident insurance producers who obtain a life line of authority on or after January 1st, 2012, must complete Kentucky’s annuity training requirements before selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuity sales.
Producers who have satisfied the training requirements of another state, similar to those required by 806 KAR 9:220 Section 5(3), may qualify for reciprocity, and can satisfy the training requirements for a Kentucky producer.
The required Kentucky annuity training topics include:
•The types of and various classifications of annuities
•How fixed, variable, and indexed annuity contract provisions affect the consumer
•Appropriate sales practices, replacement, and disclosure requirements
Quest CE provides crucial NAIC annuity suitability training along with a wide array of continuing education courses to fulfill continuing education needs at both state and national levels.
