Canadian Pharmacies Convinced Alcohol Consumption Causes More Damage than Good
Press release from: Canada Pharmacy Online
(openPR) - Alcohol consumption has always invited strong debates, some in favor of drinking while others finding potential harm to health far more serious. Canadian pharmacies believe in the latter and warn people to consider serious implications occurring both in the short and long term. Several studies have been conducted in the past, but drinking is a social habit likely to affect each individual differently. People must consider how much alcohol is dangerous to their own health.
Recent Study Links Alcohol Consumption to Increased Risk of Breast Cancer
A study conducted in the United States revealed women consuming between three to six alcoholic drinks every week were more likely to develop breast cancer, though the risk factor was not high enough to discourage drinking. A total of 105,986 nurses were part of the volunteer group studied for nearly 30 years. Results of the study published by the American Medical Association were followed up by the Canadian Public health Association.
The statutory health bodies found effects of alcohol causes more harm than good in individuals as well as society as a whole. A clear distinction between men and women consuming alcohol became evident during the study. Women were more susceptible to harmful effects of alcohol, as their lower body weight and lower fluid retention levels meant same quantity of alcohol would have far greater negative effects on them as compared to men.
For example, drinking during pregnancy or while breastfeeding the baby could harm the fetus or baby respectively. In terms of health benefits, one drink per day does not cause any damage as per research studies. However, Canadian pharmacies believe more than one drink is likely to cause changes in reflex action.
For instance, the World Health Organization has identified a substantial increase in alcohol-related injuries including poisoning, drowning, burns, falls, and serious accidents. It also meant initial negative effects directly affected body balance and reflexes. In fact, the WHO has already initiated debate to curb intake of alcohol, as worldwide statistics show approximately 2.5 million people lose their lives every year on account of alcohol consumption.
Drinking For Health Benefits Not Necessary
Health consciousness does not permit people to consume alcohol. There are more effective, and natural methods including nutritional diet and regular exercise ensure good health. Some health benefits included reduced risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and cognitive impairment in men consuming two drinks per day and women consuming one drink per day. Moderate alcohol intake also lowers risk of ischemic heart disease. It is capable of strengthening bones thereby reducing the risk of osteoporosis. Lastly, moderate alcohol consumption is attributed to lower risk of cognitive impairment in the case of dementia.
In comparison, several serious harmful effects include risk of low birth babies among women consuming excess alcohol. Proportion of alcohol intake was directly proportional to damage caused. Alcohol is known to affect sleep patterns by inducing extended sleep cycles likely to cause long-term damage even in young adults. It is better to buy Melatonin to get sound sleep. Several other serious health problems include fetal alcohol spectrum disorder in infants and increased risk of cancer. Canadian pharmacies definitely find harmful effects to be far more serious and must be considered by individuals before developing the avoidable lifestyle habit of consuming alcohol.
