Plunet Business & Translation Management System introduces an advanced interface for memoQ 5
Press release from: Plunet
(openPR) - Plunet introduces an expanded dynamic interface to memoQ server 5.0, which means Plunet will feature the most far-reaching integration of a business and translation management system with memoQ. The Plunet memoQManager interface allows project managers to easily create, control and handle entire memoQ translation projects within Plunet. The interface is impressive thanks to its workflow flexibility and user-friendly automation of various processes. The synchronization of both systems saves the project manager valuable time switching between Plunet and memoQ and ensures that all of the information and files that are relevant to the project are always available.
The new interface also features an expanded filter import that allows to allocate user-defined and cascading filters in Plunet before sending them to memoQ. This means that texts and symbols that are not supposed to be translated can be filtered out beforehand. The intelligent Plunet automation reduces the workload and saves translators and reviewers time. Prefiltering complicated source texts makes the translation workflow much more efficient.
When creating the project users can now predefine in Plunet whether memoQ should generate desktop or server documents for the translation projects. This increases the translation management flexibility and ensures smooth job processing. Not everyone involved in a project has a constant and fast Internet connection, so it can be useful when project managers are able to flexibly decide whether documents should be processed online or on the desktop.
Furthermore, project managers can easily export the translated files from memoQ through Plunet. In addition to job-related documents that are available in the same format as the source file, one can also automatically export bilingual file formats such as Trados Bilingual Word documents. Plunet increases the flexibility and interoperability throughout the entire translation process thanks to its intelligent workflow automation and control features.
New functions were also added to Plunet's memoQManager. One of these features is the PoolJob feature which is particularly suited to companies that allow several in-house translators for each language to work on a project at the same time. Translators that are assigned to the project are given access to the documents they need to translate. After the job is delivered, Plunet retrieves the actual number of words that were translated in the job and automatically assigns them to the correct translator. This allows the project manager to easily determine how many words each translator translated and gives them access to valuable resource-related productivity numbers and monitoring functions.
Madeleine Lenker, the technology expert who is responsible for the interface's conception, is convinced that many translation companies and in-house language services departments will welcome the integration. "We really focused on the wishes and needs of our Plunet customers and the translation industry while developing the interface. Many of the minor and major developments, such as the ability to choose between desktop and server documents when creating the project or automatic file export, were added based on suggestions by our users."
