British Telecom Takes Charge of Sales of Qnamic Software

Logistics & Transport
Press release from: Qnamic AG
PR Agency: Klaffke & Dietschi's really fine ideas
(openPR) - The Swiss software company Qnamic has won the British Telecom as partner in sales of the RailOpt-Suite in Great Britain. This union represents the cooperation between Europe's largest telecommunication company and the world leader in railway logistics. The partnership's goal is to conquer the British railway market and introduce «Intelligent Resource Management».

With this unique partnership, the Swiss software company Qnamic and the British Telecom (BT) hope to profit from the need for innovation that is currently being felt by railway companies worldwide. In the future, BT will manage sales of Qnamic developed RailOpt in the British railway market. This software supports railway companies by using «Intelligent Resource Management» - a feat never before accomplished in the railway sector. The software allows for the planning of: traffic, use of rolling stock, and the entire production process centrally and efficiently.

Qnamic product conquers the UK market
«This is an important step for Qnamic. With BT, we have found one of the best possible partners in Great Britain», says Qnamic CEO Dirk Pfeiffer. The British side of the partnership is very impressed by the achievement, the dynamic agility, and the quality of the Swiss start-up that has become world leader in railway logistic software within three years. Ian Cunningham, General Manager BT Global Services, said: «We are very excited about Qnamic and their products. They offer the amazing chance to set a new industry standard in the United Kingdom.»

Increase in railway efficiency
The RailOpt-Suite delivers a great increase in efficiency in railway traffic. With «Intelligent Resource Management», it is possible to decrease costs by using rolling stock most effectively. In turn, this leads to increased productivity within the railway company. This helps the taxpayer save money, while simultaneously making the track an economic and environmentally friendly alternative to road traffic.

«The UK is a very interesting market for our products», says Qnamic CEO Dirk Pfeiffer. Due to privatisation of the state's railway under Margaret Thatcher, about twenty different franchises sprang up. This makes the requirements for logistics and coordination in the railway sector very high. «Our software is the perfect solution for such a challenge», says Pfeiffer. Qnamic software is already in effective use at two Swiss railway companies, as well the state railway companies of Luxembourg and Sweden.

After three years in business aiming at UK market
With BT at its side, Qnamic - market leader after just three years of business - can enter the lucrative British market. It is said that a strong partner on-site is required to be successful in Britain. «It makes us very proud to start on this path with BT», says Pfeiffer. Executives of a number of major British railway companies attended the official Kick-off in London at 2. May. A very well known location was selected for this event: The War Room, where Winston Churchill steered «The Battle of Britain». From here, BT and Qnamic seek to conquer the British railway market.
