Matrix Energy wins patent infringement lawsuit
Press release from: Matrix Energy Inc.
(openPR) - Matrix Energy Inc. is satisfied with and now vindicated by the decision issued October 31, 2011 by The Honourable Mr. Justice Scott of the Federal Court of Canada concluding that defendant, Matrix Energy Inc, “…did not infringe Conserval Engineering’s Canadian Patent No 1,326,619 patent… by making, designing and selling its own MatrixAir™ system”.
The Hon. Justice Scott ruled that because there is no infringement by Matrix Energy that the infringement action is dismissed with costs against the plaintiff. Similarly, The Hon. Justice Scott further ruled that the Trade-mark infringement and passing-off actions brought forward by Conserval are also both dismissed with costs against the plaintiffs.
In October 2007 Conserval Engineering launched a patent infringement suit against Matrix Energy Inc. Since that time Matrix Energy, has vehemently defended its right to offer an alternative transpired solar air heating product to the market. Says Brian Wilkinson, President of Matrix Energy Inc. “It is unfortunate that Conserval Engineering chose litigation rather than working together to foster the growth of this technology in this nascent industry for the benefit of all stakeholders. The decision of the Federal Court of Canada renews our motivation to continue to develop and market solar air heating systems that reduce conventional energy usage and Greenhouse Gas emissions in the commercial, industrial, institutional and agricultural sectors around the world.”
Founded in 1985, Matrix Energy Inc. provides a number of cost efficient façade and roof mounted solar air heating systems under the MatrixAir™ brand name. To know more consult the company’s webstie, www.matrixairheating.com or send your inquiries to info@matrixairheating.com
