International Tank Container Organisation puts on a presentation at transport logistic 2007

Press release from: Messe München
(openPR) - 2007 will be the third time the International Tank Container Organisation (ITCO) has taken part in transport logistic, the leading European trade fair for logistics, telematics and transport. transport logistic 2007 takes place from 12 to 15 June 2007 in Munich. 34 ITCO companies will be putting on a joint presentation in the ‘Tank Container Village’, showcasing an extensive range of services and equipment for the chemicals industry.

The idea for a ‘Tank Container Village’ was successfully launched at transport logistic in 2003, and this year, the display will be covering over 700 square metres of space. Exhibiting here will again be leasing companies, depot operators, tank container forwarding agencies, maintenance and security firms and international service companies. All of them will be presenting the latest technology for safe, economic use of tank containers. This display is of interest particularly to firms who are involved in the transport of liquid products such as chemicals, gas and food, whether it be by road, rail or water. Another focus at this display will be the criteria for safe, secure handling, for inspection of technical equipment and for operation and hire.

Accompanying this, as part of the conference programme at transport logistic 2007, will be a panel discussion on ‘The future of tank containers in the global supply chain’ (14 June, 11:00-12:00) and a workshop on ‘Telematics applications in the intermodal transport of dangerous cargo’, organised by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (14 June, 10:00-17:15). Here the spotlight will be on the use of new technologies for transporting dangerous cargo and how this can improve safety and security. Derailing detection in rail transport will also be a subject. The conference programme also includes a further 25 events – forums, workshops and country specials – featuring high-ranking experts from industry and the policymakers (for further information, go to: www.transportlogistic.de).

Messe München is expecting over 1,500 exhibitors from almost 60 countries to take part in transport logistic 2007, the International Trade Fair for Logistics, Telematics and Transport. For comparison, in 2005, the number was 1,333 companies from 51 countries. The figures for 2007 represent an increase of 15 percent. The proportion of international exhibitors in this total is around 40 percent. Messe München is also predicting that over 40,000 visitors from over 100 countries will be attending transport logistic 2007.
