Thompson & Knight Expands Labor and Employment Practice

(openPR) - Dallas (November 21, 2011) – The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Jennifer Motwani Hurley has joined the Firm as an Attorney in the Labor and Employment Practice Group in Dallas.
“Jennifer is an accomplished lawyer and a valuable addition to our labor and employment practice. We are pleased to have her join our team,” says Elizabeth A. Schartz, the Firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Leader.
Hurley focuses her practice on the representation of management in state and federal labor and employment-related litigation involving claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and harassment. She represents clients in the enforcement and defense of non-compete agreements, trade secret violations, confidentiality, and unfair competition claims. Hurley also counsels and advises employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures, termination questions, wage and hour questions, and other disciplinary and benefit-related matters.
Hurley received her J.D., cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2007, and her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Baylor University in 2002 and 2006, respectively. She is admitted to practice in Texas and Oklahoma and is a member of various professional organizations, including the Dallas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Oklahoma Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Hurley is a Volunteer Attorney with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas, and a Crisis Hotline Advocate with the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children. She previously served on the Board of Directors for Domestic Violence Intervention Services.
Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, Hurley was an Associate at Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, LLP. She also previously served as a Law Clerk to the Judge Advocate General in the United States Air Force in San Antonio, Texas.
