ISO Software Systeme Supplies Namibian Airports

German Airport IT specialist ISO Software Systeme has been awarded a contract to supply Namibian Airports Company (NAC) with an Airport Information & Billing System.

State-owned Namibian Airports Company (NAC), which owns and runs eight Namibian airports, requested a new system for the operation of three of these. The tender started in late 2010, and after competing with eight other suppliers, ISO finally won with its new web-based solution SKYport.
SKYport, with its up-to-date three-tier system architecture, will capture all relevant passenger and aircraft movement data required for flight planning and providing real-time updates of flight information. Furthermore, it will handle the entire aeronautical billing process and will be the first solution worldwide that is already able to meet the new IATA SIS XML standard, which will revolutionize the exchange of billing data in the aviation industry. A five-year maintenance contract is also part of the acknowledgement.
The roll-out for the Namibian airports Hosea Kutako International Airport, Eros Airport and Walvis Bay Airport has been in progress since the end of August. Start of operations is planned for early 2012. It will be the first airport project for ISO in Africa after having successfully implemented its solutions at some 40 airports in Europe, Asia and North America.
