Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina visited Cane Bay High School located in Summerville, SC on Tuesday November 15th, 2011 for the high school’s annual career day. Attorney Evan Guthrie spoke to juniors and seniors at Cane Bay School about the legal profession and what steps they need to take to become a lawyer. There was much interest as dozens of students stopped by Attorney Guthrie’s table to take information about a legal career and to ask questions about what being an attorney is like. Questions ranged from what classes to take to hypotheticals about friends and family member’s legal situations. There were four sessions that lasted about an hour each at the career event held in the school’s gym at Cane Bay. Attorney Guthrie’s table was in between a forensics investigator for the Berkeley County Sheriff’s office and firefighters as many careers and professions were represented at the event. Students were free to walk up to any table they wanted to ask questions and get information. The event went well and the students learned valuable lessons about their future careers.
