Travelers Use Smartphones When Looking For Airport Parking
Press release from: AirportParkingReservations.com
It has been reported that, over the past year, the number of passengers at airports who use a smartphone has almost doubled. It has grown from 28% to 54% in around a year – a highly significant increase.
Suffield, CT, US, November 01, 2011 -- At some airports, smartphone use is extremely high, with 74% of passengers at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (the busiest in the world) using one. But what do travelers use their smartphones for at the airport? A study has found that around 21% of them use their phones to look for information on airport parking, highlighting the importance of this issue for many travelers.
However, planning the parking in advance of the journey is still arguably the best solution. Using smartphones to do so is certainly worthwhile, and an app can now be used to reserve your off-site parking as well as find information. Recently, AirportParkingReservations.com developed an iPhone app that enables travelers to find suitable off-site parking near to the airport they are due to fly from, and technology has certainly made it a lot easier to locate suitable off-airport parking no matter where travelers are at the time.
Parking off-site when flying is a popular option with many travelers as it often helps to save on the cost of airport parking and also offers free shuttle services to get passengers to the airport in time for their flight. Being able to reserve a space online, either through a computer, mobile, tablet or a smartphone app, also guarantees a parking space – which isn’t always the case if you simply turn up at the airport.
Travel apps are amongst the most downloaded category of apps for the iPhone. GPS use and in particular Google Maps are amongst the most commonly used resources by smartphone users whilst not at home. The growing popularity of smartphones and mobile search will continue to make travel arrangements and planning much easier as innovative companies like www.airportparkingreservations.com continue to develop clever solutions for travelers.
