Daniel Imperato 2008 Presidential Candidate to Speak at West Palm Beach Immigration Rights Rally
Press release from: Imperato For President
PR Agency: i1connect
Daniel Imperato is the only candidate who speaks up for Hispanics and their rights.
West Palm Beach, FL – May 1, 2007 – Today 2008 Presidential Candidate was invited to join Immigration Rights Rally that is taking place in West Palm Beach, FL .
The rally is being done in conjunction with other rallies all over the country in cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Washington D.C.
Last year hundreds of thousands of supporters gathered in cities around the country to advocate a pathway to citizenship for 20 million immigrants living in the United States without authorization.
Imperato supports comprehensive immigration reform and a pathway to citizenship for immigrants currently living in America.
“The immigrants of America, like my family from Italy, should have a right to be able to defend themselves and to have an opportunity to become American citizens. The United States of America, as the so-called leader of free societies and democracy around the world, should recognize immigrants as people who have desired to come to the US to feed their families, educate their children, and have a better life,” said Imperato.
Imperato also felt that the Hispanic population of this country has been unfairly singled out when many other groups from around the world are living in the United States illegally.
“Why are we only counting the people of Hispanic descent when we talk about immigration? What about the students and tourists that are here on expired visas? How many people are here illegally from Africa, Asia, India? To single out Hispanics in this country is unfair. We must look at immigration amongst all people.”
In addition, Imperato wanted Congress and all of America to remember that the United States is a nation of immigrants.
“When our forefathers wrote the documents of democracy, we were a nation of immigrants. We were given a chance to become citizens. In some cases names were changed, children were lost, but we were given a chance. That is how our great country was built. So don’t forget our beginning.”
The rally will begin at 3pm on the corner of Okeechobee Blvd. and Sapodilla (next to the Kravis Center) in West Palm Beach, FL where supporters will march to the Federal Office Building at 701 Clematis Street.
