Overland Park, KS, Retirees at Tallgrass Creek to ‘Punt, Pass and Kick’ Their Beloved Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas and Kansas State Teams to Victory at Friday, October 21, Football Fest

WHAT:
A Friday, October 21, Pep Rally, Tailgate Party and ‘Punt, Pass and Kick’ Contest by the nearly 300 residents of Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park, Kansas. Residents will throw footballs for distance, kick an onside kick and dance in the end zone. They will do this to celebrate their collective health and fitness and to cheer their beloved Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas University and Kansas State football teams onto victory.

ITINERARY:
The following four events will take place:

“Hail Mary!” -- Ten points are awarded to the man and woman who throws the football he farthest.

“Kick!” -- The ball must travel ten yards to a field marker. The closest man and woman without going under will be awarded 10 points.

“On the Numbers!” – Residents will throw as many footballs as they can through a tire on a platform. Each contestant will be awarded a point for each completion.

“TOUCHDOWN!!!” -- “He’s on the 40… the 30… the 20… the 10… Touchdown!!! Each participant will be given the ball to do an end zone dance or pose for the judges. Each judge will be selected from the crowd at random and will score the dance from 1-10. The score will be added to the total of the participants points.

Prizes and certificates will be awarded to male and female winners.

WHEN AND WHERE:
Friday, October 21 (3 - 4:30 p.m.) at Tallgrass Creek retirement community’s courtyard, located at 13800 Metcalfe Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas, 66223.

NEWS/PHOTO OPS:
All Participants will be available for interviews. The ‘Punt, Pass and Kick’ event should lend itself to interesting and surprising visuals. Participants will wear their favorite football team’s apparel. Tallgrass residents and staff on the sidelines will cheer them on.
