(openPR) - (Beverly, MA) - Kaminski Auction’s Annual April Auction, which took place Sunday, April 22, 2007, was a crowd-pleasing success. The event, held in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Colonial Hotel in Lynnfield, MA attracted standing room only crowds who clamored to bid on long lost colonial treasures. Frank Kaminski, owner of Kaminski Auctions, gathered a transcontinental collection of rare furnishings, family heirlooms, jewelry, fine art, and ceramics that peaked both collectors' interests and closing bids. Final sales for the day totaled nearly $344,000, evidence that Kaminski has established a strong presence and audience on both the east and west coasts.

Crowds of collectors attended the auction to place bids on items from the Hannah Davis family of Concord and Bedford, Massachusetts returned to their New England home. Included in this collection, was a rare 18th / 19th century tall case clock by Joseph Mulliken (1765-1802), of the distinguished New England family of clock makers. According to one source, only about 20 clocks of this style are known to have survived from his short-lived career. At auction, his colonial era Concord, Massachusetts cherry tall case clock with its original untouched finish and original brass finials, reached a final sale price three times its estimate, closing at an astounding $33,500. An exceptional watercolor of the Hannah Davis family tree, 1825, topped off at $4,485.

Several other items consigned by California collectors continued to satisfy enthusiastic crowds. Outstanding items included an exceptional early 19th century Boston Academy writing box in tiger maple which sold for $4,025 and an 18th century New England Queen Anne maple highboy that reached a final price of $4,887.
