10 Of The World’s Best Chefs Offer Their Culinary Secrets Through An Exclusive Online Community

Press release from: The Chef Project
PR Agency: The Defectors

(openPR) - The Chef Project is a world first online cooking initiative that brings ten of the most acclaimed chefs from around the globe into the kitchens of every day Australians and the rest of the world. The 10 Grand Chefs, who include Australia’s own Jacques Reymond, aim to teach people over a 50 week online course how to break the cycle of cooking the usual routine of meals they are stuck with.

The Chef Project came about after its Founder, Australian Steven Pharr, became frustrated with his own cycle. “I had a routine of about 8 meals I would cook, they revolved over time, but were just different versions of the same base 8 recipes. I would try to find new recipes in magazines, but they were just the same, a different pasta sauce, a different sort of pie. It had got very boring.” said Pharr. “I know I am not only in this situation.”

“Yet as soon as I moved away from recipes I found in magazines and on the internet, to more interesting recipes from different cultures I found it was too difficult to source ingredients, the ingredients were too expensive, the meal was too unhealthy to consume regularly, or the dish required abilities that exceeded my skills. It was from this reality that The Chef Project was borne,” said Pharr.
Subscribers to The Chef Project will receive 3 new recipes per week for 50 weeks, one entrée, one main course and one dessert – each Monday morning. Each week a new Grand Chef is featured, with recipes inspired by their culture and cooking style.

“The recipes, whilst still to their own world class standard, and inspired by their culinary background, were tailored to be suitable for the regular home cook. The cook who has a job that finishes late. The cook who has young children, or difficult teenagers. The cook who may be cooking for 2, 4 or 6, even a dinner party of 8,” said Pharr.

With people around the world about to take on The Chef Project adventure, the founder Steven Pharr has certainly had one already. “These are the best Chefs in the world; many of them do not speak English, or understand the limitations of the average cook. Last week I was up at 4am using an internet translation website to help me communicate to the #1 chef in Spain that you can’t buy scorpion fish at the supermarket, and we could next expect people to drain the poison from their spikes to then shed them up with a lime mayonnaise on toast.”

“Another Chef was on his annual food pilgrimage to the mountains of Sicily when he wanted to change one of his recipes, the deadline was an hour away and he had no access to a computer, so he wrote the recipe down on paper, made the dish in a local nonnas kitchen, took a photo on his iPhone and rode a donkey to the top of mountain he was on to get phone reception to send it to us.”

The 10 Grand Chefs are:
1. Jacques Reymond (Australia)
2. Grant Achatz (USA)
3. Georges Blanc (France)
4. Yoshihiro Narisawa (Japan)
5. Andoni Luis Aduriz (Spain)
6. Carlo Cracco (Italy)
7. Pierre Gagnaire (France)
8. Martin Berasategui (Spain)
9. Alvin Leung (Hong Kong)
10. Fergus Henderson (UK)
