Managed testing services under the spotlight at iqnite 2011

London, 14 September 2011 – SQS, the organiser of iqnite 2011, the UK’s dedicated software testing and quality assurance conference and exhibition, has today announced the speaker line up, workshops and exhibitors at the 2011 event. With keynotes from Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and Jason Taylor of Specsavers, the event will tackle software testing concerns including: independence, automation, agile and security testing.

Taking place on 6 October 2011 at the Russell Hotel in London, the annual iqnite conference and exhibition features exhibition stands from many of the key players within the software testing market.

Olympic gold medallist and now a “people‘s peer” in the House of Lords, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE will open the event with her “Individual Success is Not Always about Individuals” presentation at 9.45 am.

The conference offers Innovation and Industries streams, chaired by
Helen Willington of Sodexo and the Chartered Institute of IT’s Michiel van der Voort respectively, and Agile and Metrics presentations in the afternoon, chaired by Thomas Spielmann of Centrica and Deutsche Bank’s Mark Mitton MBE.

Bola Rotibi will present the findings of an in-depth report conducted on behalf of the Application Security Advisory Board by surveying members of the Information Security Professional Body, (ISC)2, and the International Association of Software Architects. The presentation reveals how security is being addressed across the application lifecycle while identifying the gaps and challenges that are currently preventing organisations from tackling software security successfully.

Closing the day is Jason Taylor of Specsavers, with a presentation on the retailer’s experience of and benefits from implementing Managed Testing Services. The presentation will cover the transition of Specsavers’ testing functions to the new Specsaver Testing Service, combining Specsavers’ leadership with a Managed Testing Service provided by SQS. It will also highlight key objectives and expectations from the three year transition-phase including the experience of transitioning to 90% off-shore delivery; the focus on metrics and governance to ensure quality and the success in building a One Team philosophy.
