Chilean Entrepreneur Fernando Fischmann Presents Cuting Edge Technology for Cooling Power Plants
Press release from: Quorum Comunicaciones
Princeton, September 2011- Nancy Stoner, Acting Assistant Administrator for Water and her team, will receive Friday Fernando Fischmann, Chilean real estate developer, biochemist and innovator, who has earned international acclaim for his worldwide patented eco-friendly technology that enables previously unimagined turquoise bodies of crystalline water at very low building and maintenance costs.
Crystal Lagoons’ CEO and responsible for the Guinness World Record Holding Swimming Pool “San Alfonso del Mar”, will present at EPA's offices in Washington the industrial application of his technology for cooling thermal power plants and data centers among others.
In contrast with current cooling systems as one through cooling, which draws water forma a natural resource and then returns it superheated and killing millions of sea organisms, this innovation reduces energy waste, water consumption and environmental damage caused by the cooling of thermal power plants. This new alternative that is possible thanks to Crystal Lagoons worldwide patented technology, absorbs waste heat from power plants and use it as energy reservoirs suitable for house heating, producing hot water, thermal desalinization and several other industrial or residential uses apart from the real estate and touristic potential of giant crystalline tempered lagoons (82,5 F°).
Daily in the U.S, energy losses due to the cooling of thermal power plants account for up to 3 times the total electric energy consumption for residential & commercial uses.
Crystal Lagoons’ technology could represent an opportunity for power plants by solving their industrial cooling problems and also adding real estate value, self financing their construction and development and representing great economic advantages to thermal power plants, at a key moment when more than 5,000 US thermal power plants will have to change their once through cooling system.
This technology that was previously presented in Babson College, APEC and Exponor 2011, already has 19 projects in countries like Peru, Finland, India and Saudi Arabia and Chile.
Crystal Lagoons Corporation has created an innovative concept and technology for building and maintaining crystal clear lagoons of unlimited size anywhere in the world, and at very low costs. This eco-friendly technology enables the creation of previously unimagined turquoise bodies of water, which can be surrounded by beaches and quays.
