Former guests who send in memorabilia or share their Original Doral Moments such as old room keys, menus, golf scorecards, slippers, towels, etc. will be given 15% off standard room rates during their next stay.* In addition, past guests whose items are chosen for display in the hotel will receive one free night per item.** Keepsakes must be dated prior to 1970 and accompanied by a brief description as well as the guest’s memories of the Doral at that time.
“Celebrating Doral Golf Resort & Spa’s 45th anniversary is an impressive milestone and we wanted to honor the past while capturing how the resort has changed throughout the years,” said Tuni Kyi, vice president and general manager of the Florida golf and spa resort. “By asking our former guests to bring back pieces of our past and share Doral Moments, we can recreate the early days of the legendary resort while encouraging them to make new memories.”
Opened in 1962, the resort was originally known as the Doral Hotel and Country Club. Throughout four-and-a-half decades it has evolved into Marriott’s premier award-winning resort. The hotel constantly raises the bar of excellence to further enhance guests’ hotel experience. This past year, it added a $25-million Legends Ballroom, renovated the infamous Blue Monster golf course, invested in a $3-million upgrade to the renowned Spa at Doral and spent $2 million renewing its Miami accommodations and meeting space.
