Sertifi Creates Paperless Transportation Document Signatures for Aljex

Press release from: Sertifi
(openPR) - CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – Aug. 29, 2011 – Sertifi, the leading provider of electronic signature solutions, recently announced the integration of its electronic signatures with Aljex’s Internet-hosted transportation management software.

The integration means that Aljex users can email documents including rate confirmations, quotes or contracts, and get them returned easily and efficiently with valid signatures.

Sertif’s system makes it possible without faxing or using printers, and without leaving the Aljex working screens.

“It’s time-consuming to print agreements, sign them and return them to the sender via fax,” says Tom Heine, CEO of Aljex Software. “The quicker our clients get rate confirmations and quotes back, the better. This esignature solution makes the process more convenient for drivers who are on the road and don’t have fax access.”

The most efficient organizations today are moving their contracting process to the Web, which includes sending, signing, tracking and storing their agreements, says John Stojka, Sertifi’s co-founder.

“We are very excited to offer Aljex's customers access to these Web contracting tools,” Stojka says.

The Sertifi and Aljex hosted software integration makes it possible for brokers and other load assigners to email a document to a carrier or driver, to name a couple of examples. The signed document gets returned to the person who sent it via email as an attached PDF.

It’s easy for a driver to sign and return a Sertifi document from an iPhone or Android phone as well as a home computer, a laptop or a tablet by using electronic signature software.
.

Here's how it works: An Aljex broker emails a rate confirmation through Sertifi, where a new layer of computer code gets added to the PDF. This code makes the signature process possible. The document, which now has an interactive window to accept a signature, is emailed to the carrier.

Carriers can enter signatures in handwriting using their index finger or a stylus on a touch-screen device such as an iPad or Android tablet. Perhaps more importantly, it can be entered in text using a PC keyboard or any text entry device. Either way, the signature is validated and is legally binding.

"We're a third party,” said John Stojka, co-founder of Sertifi. “We have the time and date of a signature, and since the event happens on our servers, we can authenticate both the sender and the signer based on their email addresses."

Sertifi users can specify additional levels of verification to include questions only the signer could answer, if needed.

Aljex users who sign up for Sertifi can customize the service in additional ways.

“Customers can go to the Sertifi web site and view all the contracts they have sent, whether they've been signed or not,” Stojka says. “They also have the option of setting up tools to help them get signed more quickly. If they've sent out a rate confirmation to a carrier, we can email that carrier every hour as a reminder until the document is signed.”

This integration with Aljex introduces Sertifi into the transportation marketplace. Other Sertifi customers include Microsoft, Pitney Bowes and the United States Air Force.
